Ms. Jennifer Nichols
Ms. Nichols holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Malone University in Canton, Ohio and completed additional coursework in reading education (Eastern Michigan University) and developmental disabilities (CPCC). She taught for nine years in Michigan before moving to North Carolina and changing careers. After several years in sales and management, she entered the non-profit field. She is a certified grants writer and seasoned fundraiser working with organizations such as InReach, The Arc of Mecklenburg, The American Red Cross, and Discovery Place. Jennifer most recently worked at The John Crosland School as Director of Institutional Advancement. For eight years she was responsible for fund development, program development, marketing and public relations. The opportunity to start the Foundation and serve as Executive Director of Aspire Carolinas marks the culmination of a lifetime dream. She always wanted to start an educational non-profit that would address the needs of underserved populations such as students with learning differences, Asperger’s and those needing career and technical options.
Ms. Marianna Parker
Director of Student services
Ms. Parker holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Clemson University, a Masters of Arts in Teaching, Special Education from University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Winthrop University. She was a classroom teacher in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) for 8 years before moving into the role of Itinerant Coordinating Teacher for the Exceptional Children (EC) Department, where she worked to support classroom EC teachers for 4 years. She then served in the role of High School Program Manager for the CMS EC Department, coordinating and supporting instructional programming for High School EC programs across the district. Ms. Parker joined our team in 2021 as a volunteer and in July 2022 she was hired as an employee of Aspire Carolinas Foundation. She has completed Aspire Trade High School’s charter school ready to open tasks, attended NCDPI charter school training, and created and attended events to enroll students. She is excited to see the school open this fall.

Ms. Suzanne Evans
Manager of Administrative Services
Ms. Evans has over 14 years of experience as a Senior Administrative Assistant in the education sector. She previously worked as a Senior Administrative/Finance Secretary & Data Manager at Crown Point Elementary in Matthews, where she provided accounting support and helped train staff and club advisors in financial procedures and regulations. In her role as an Administrative Secretary in the Exceptional Children’s Department in Charlotte, Ms. Evans managed a variety of department operations. Prior to that, she worked as a Senior Administrative/Finance Secretary & Data Manager at Metro School in Charlotte, where she oversaw budgets and payroll and supervised fundraisers. Suzanne’s impressive tenure within the education and non-profit sectors underscores her commitment to making a meaningful impact on the community.
Mr. Antonio Mason

Mr. Mason began his career at Allstate Insurance company, where he acquired a solid foundation of business knowledge and a deep understanding of customer service. After multiple years with Allstate, Mr. Mason had the opportunity to work with Wachovia, where he earned the credentials needed for continued success. In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Mason is passionate about community service. He has volunteered for various organizations, including Crisis, Habitat for Humanity, and has dedicated numerous hours to CMS schools. His most recent volunteer work at the Halton School allowed him to connect with new faces and build meaningful relationships. Mr. Mason’s aspiration is to lead the next generation of students at Aspire to new heights and beyond. His wealth of experience, coupled with his commitment to excellence, makes him a valuable asset to our team.
