About Us

The Aspire Trade High School will be the first charter school to focus on both industry specific career and technical education and traditional academics in Mecklenburg County. This innovative school complete with nine plus trade labs will allow students to choose industry specific careers such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, culinary, IT/data science, and website design. Other career paths being explored include sustainable agriculture/hydroponics, brick masonry, advanced manufacturing automation and heavy equipment operator. We are considering entry level medical careers such as certified nursing assistant, medical assistant, and medical coding specialist. Our vision is to allow high school students the opportunity to choose occupations that will involve academic study, hands-on training and skill building. Our certified trade instructors will use current industry standard curriculum that in certain industries may lead toward future licensure. Aspire Trade High School students will be enrolled in the trade area of their choice. In this rigorous program students will gain viable skills and experience while enrolled in an academic high school and be offered apprenticeships by companies within our region prior to graduation. Upon completing required trade courses and their junior/senior apprenticeship they will achieve a certificate of completion in their chosen trade and a standard high school diploma. Students will graduate with marketable skills and may choose to immediately begin their career journey with a local company, go on to further their education in their chosen trade or explore other available options.
