Aspire Trade High School is excited to partner with Atrium Health for our medical assistant program. Atrium Health is outfitting both our biomedical and clinical labs and they are committed to assisting our students with employment after they obtain their Medical Assistant Certificate (CMA).

About Medical Assisting
Medical assistants complete both clinical and administrative tasks in a healthcare setting. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by a physician. Students enrolled in the medical assistant program will complete the coursework and lab hours needed to prepare them for their Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) test. The median annual wage for Certified Medical Assistants was $37,190 in May 2021. Employment of medical assistants is projected to grow 16 percent from 2021 to 2031. (www.bls.gov). Students with a CMA certificate would be to work at Atrium Health and other healthcare providers.
